The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights today denounced the “impunity” that reigns in Venezuela, where the security forces have allegedly committed abuses for years without the State being held accountable.
The United Nations and Russia on Thursday called on the United States to reconsider its decision to withdraw from the Human Rights Council of the world body.
The convoy of the UN, the Intentional Committee of the Red Cross (CIRC) and the Syrian Crescent (SARC) has been composed of 46 trucks loaded with medical equipment and supplies destined for hospital centers, as well as food for 27,500 people . The unloading has taken place in the city of Duma, the most populated in the area with about 120,000 inhabitants. The Syrian regime launched new attacks last week, launching at least one chlorine attack against the rebel enclave of Ghouta, despite the entry into force of a truce to allow a humanitarian corridor that minimally alleviates the punished region, bombed as never before by government forces since the beginning of the war.
