Earthquake of 5.5 degrees was registered in Lima

The tremor occurred at 6:07 in the morning (11:07 GMT), with an epicenter in the town of Mala, at a depth of 63 kilometers and 88 kilometers south of Lima on the Peruvian coast.

An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 shook this Thursday in Lima causing alarm among the population, although no casualties, material damage or tsunami warning were reported, according to the first reports of the country’s Civil Defense.

The earthquake was also felt with great intensity in the Peruvian capital and even in the northern town of Huaral, according to local media .
