Airplane accident leaves 10 people dead in Kenya

The Kenyan government confirmed today that there are no survivors in the accident of the light aircraft of a subsidiary of the Kenyan airline Fly540 that was carrying 8 passengers and two pilots and that it disappeared on Tuesday, when it returned to Nairobi, in a national park in southwestern Kenya .

“The rescue teams have arrived at the scene of the accident and I regret to confirm that there are no survivors,” Transport Secretary Paul Maringa told a news conference.

There is still no official information on the passengers or their nationalities, who were traveling in the plane from Kitale (west) to Nairobi (south), although local media say  all of them were  Kenyans except an American.

The corpses have been recovered and will be sent to Nairobi for identification
